Provenance: private collection in Occitania, belonging to a friend of Pierre Bayle.
Note: A ceramist from Languedoc who trained in Castelnaudary, Pierre Bayle combined traditional craftsmanship with avant-garde experimentation, establishing ceramics as an art form in its own right, straddling the line between utilitarian and decorative objects. He creates works in sigillata clay, first slip-coated and then smoked, with surfaces treated to highlight their texture and crackle patterns, which lend depth and uniqueness to his pieces.
